MindyourMind Golf is a joint journey of discovery on the golf course. The question that we place at the heart of the game is: which challenges in your life – especially in these unprecedented times – demand an answer? We reflect, ponder and discover by way of the MindyourMind method. We go outside to engage in genuine inner inquiry.
By reflecting on the way you play golf, you learn a lot about your mindset, thoughts and emotions. The simple but powerful MindyourMind techniques with which I work will help you achieve this. You will develop the ability to recover inner peace, to cope with tension or stress, and to let of go of your emotions. To do what is right from a place of calmness, stillness, and clarity. This method offers powerful techniques* that are easy to apply in everyday life. And also in the case of bigger challenges: from a painful loss or a divorce to a forced intervention in your company or unexpected changes in your work life.

The Circle (9 holes):
a 4 to 5-hour journey of discovery
We will get onto the golf course and get to work straight away. We contemplate your question and make it central to our game. As we play, we will discover what’s playing on your mind. By experiencing and by applying MindyourMind techniques. By being curious about what these 9 holes will bring in relation to your question. From moment to moment, ball after ball. Here, PAR will be our guidance: Prepare, Act and Reflect. Afterwards we will reflect on what happened.
We can do The Circle at Golfpark De Haenen in Breda or at Golf Parc De Pettelaer in ’s-Hertogenbosch. If you prefer, we can also switch to a golf course of your choice. Together we will decide what time to get started.
Life is a magical game full of challenges, ups and downs, temptations and paradoxes. This is true for golf as well. This is why golf can serve as a perfect mirror for how you live and work.
The Adventure (18 holes):
a 6 to 7-hour journey of discovery
An adventure during which we go to the heart of the matter. The real thing, by way of golf. Life in one day. We start in the morning, at dawn if possible. Together we embark on a journey, with the aim of returning back home. After 18 holes, when the game is done. This requires courage. The capacity for surrender and resilience. The willingness to let go. Experience who is playing. A desire for effortless golf, effortless work and life. To discover what that is. We finish by having lunch or dinner together, during which we will make up the balance.
We can do The Adventure at Golfpark De Haenen in Breda. If you prefer, we can also meet on a golf course of your choice. Together we will decide what time to get started.
My name is Camiel Engelen.
As a young boy I liked playing hockey and I wanted to become a sports physician. I used to picture myself running across the pitch to help injured players. How differently life played out. I started as a fiscal lawyer. I then changed course and followed a few different paths. I discovered the common thread: I am interested in human nature. I have now worked as a professional coach for almost 20 years. During this period I have made a fascinating journey of discovery passing through, amongst others, leadership training, courses in coaching, bodymindwork, mindfulness, Buddhism, Irish silent retreats, and Advaita.
A few years ago I got hooked on golf. On the game, the people, and the beautiful nature. Enthusiastic about the game and the lessons it provides. Every time it reminds me of the one thing that stand in the way of an enjoyable game of golf. This is how MindyourMind Golf was born: I started to combine my experience in business and life coaching with golf. With golf serving as a perfect mirror for work and life.
We enter the course together. We explore the terrain, analyse obstacles and identify challenges. If necessary, I will carry your bag for a while, including any excess baggage. That way you can play freely. We embrace the calmness, we pause, we are aware, and we discover. Ball after ball.

Caddie for work and life
You will discover and experience for yourself. As you play, you will discover what’s playing on your mind. See by looking differently. No tricks, no shortcuts. Don’t believe anything uncritically, you will experience for yourself. An open attitude will help you achieve this. You will see: whatever you discover in your game of golf, you can apply to your life and work.
Do I have to be good at golf?
That’s not necessary. MindyourMind Golf is for any golfers with hcp 54 or lower who want to reflect and discover by observing the way they play golf.
Do you also offer shorter individual coaching aside from The Circle and The Adventure?

Yes, that’s possible. We could for example start with The Circle (9 holes) or The Adventure (18 holes) and then discuss afterwards how to follow up on it (by booking further golf sessions or switching to individual coaching sessions).
